Will see you again Quotient – in about 90 days!

I first heard about Quotient Sciences ‘We Need You’ over 10 years ago - a radio advert sparked my interest. I submitted an application form and was accepted to join the panel of volunteers. The process for joining the panel is streamlined with all forms completed online and from the comfort of your own home.

Since my journey started, I like to take part in a couple of studies a year! This helps pay for life’s perks: the holidays – the new car – the surprise weekends away!

Helping discover new drug treatments is the main reason I do these clinical trials – without volunteers, medicines simply would not come to market, so I am extremely proud of what I do; and tell others as well to help encourage others to join the team. With Quotient’s refer a friend scheme, I can get paid up to £200 for each person who completes a study – so win-win!

Receiving additional income for my time and inconvenience is also a huge benefit - days when I am busy with bingo, quizzes or eating my delicious lunch – I sometimes forget we are getting paid to be here!

The days are filled with fun activities – a chance for all the volunteers to catch up. The Volunteer Liaison does a great job – if they’re not running a killer pool competition, they’re asking us for feedback on our food or our experiences in the clinic and trying to improve any areas they can.

I’m a busy, working father of 3, but Quotient always have plenty of different studies that work around my family life; it’s great to be able to pick and choose the studies I want to do – I can research all the information we are given ahead of the dosing date.

I’ve mentioned the meals - the food is varied and tasty. The menu is completed at the start of the study, so we can all look forward to fresh food each day – this is fantastic & I look forward to the evening meals more than I do at home.

The clinic is rather large – 6 wards - and when it's busy, it feels like a social club.

You meet some interesting volunteers along the way... even made a friend or two!

I would highly recommend anyone to give these trials a go, especially at Quotient Sciences We Need You.
