From bed to bike – and everything in-between!!

Here has to be a positive side to being a postmenopausal woman, right!?

For me, a life-changing plus is that I'm now eligible to apply for the majority of clinical trials at Quotient  - hooray!!!

I enrolled during covid times when all the covid rules were followed. In my first few studies, the interactions with fellow volunteers were rightly limited. But as the world opened back up – so did the bingo box!!

Consequently, in my most recent study, I welcomed the return of social activities such as bingo, quizzes, and killer pool (as a spectator this time, as I need some practice!).

During my stays at the clinic I have met other volunteers from all walks of life and very quickly a group camaraderie develops as you are all sharing the same unique experience.

The break from meal planning and cooking is another bonus as the meals at Quotient are all very tasty, with vegetarian options available when possible.

The allowances I've received have been used for holidays and enabled me to buy my prized possession….An electric bike!

Admittedly this is my main motivation for participating. However, it's also rewarding to know that I play a huge role in helping find new, more effective treatments that could save and enhance lives.

So, if you like me want to be a hero in a bike helmet – have a look online – see where your journey takes you…
